The workshop started with an introduction of Dr Hauschka and its founder, chemist Dr Rudolf Hauschka and esthetician Elisabeth Sigmund. For more than 40 years Dr.Hauschka Skin Care has led the way in holistic skin care and formulations are based on an understanding of the way skin works and its relationship with overall health.
Dr Hauskau is also the pioneer in Biodynamics® , a holistic, sustainable form of agriculture that dates all the way back to the 1920's by Dr Rudolf Steiner. It takes into account everything from the cycles of the moon and stars to the soil, plants, animals and people, with the ultimate goal of making each garden or farm a healthy self-sustaining ecosystem.
Dr.Hauschka manufacturer WALA Heilmittel has owned and maintained their own certified Biodynamic gardens for over sixty years, and a number of the botanicals used in Dr.Hauschka Skin Care preparations comes from these very gardens and uses the rhythmical processing . Dr.Hauschka’s line of holistic skin care is 100% Certified Natural by the BDIH a federal association of German manufacturers of drugs, supplements, cosmetics and personal care products whose "Guidelines for Natural" are the most selective in the world.
Jean, the MakeUp Artiste for Dr Hauschka demonstrated the latest range of Dr Hauschka’s Pastel Collection on a participant. Firstly, Jean cleanses her skin with Dr Hauschka Cleansing Milk, Facial Toner, Rose day Cream and eye cream.
Then she selected a suitable shade of Translucent Make Up, 00 for fair skin. This liquid foundation enhances the skin's radiant glow for a dewy, flawless look. Mineral pigments blend uneven pigmentation while plant extracts oils like Anthyllis, carrot and witch hazel extracts calm, nurture and tone and avocado and jojoba oil to moisturize and protect.
The wonderful thing about Dr Hauschka Translucent Loose powder is its made from Pure Silk fibers and tapioca to reduce shine, leaving your skin feeling soft and refreshed. Pure silk allows for smooth, even application without leaving a dull, dry appearance. Jean also explain that using a liquid foundation and loose powder would be lasting through out the day although Dr Hauschka makeup do not contain any preservatives or chemicals. She chooses a natural grey brow colour, neutral eye shadow colour and dual-eye liner, black colour for the eyelids and white color for the under eye.
Next, she uses Dr Hauschka volumising mascara which contains Beeswax, rose, candelilla waxes and silk powder to plump and protect lashes. It also contains Neem leaf extract to strengthens keratin and to encourage strong, full growth lashes and antioxidant-rich eyebright and black tea extracts soothe the sensitive eye area. One drawback about the mascara as its not waterproof as chemicals would be involved. For the Blusher, Jean uses Rouge powder which is made of Rose extract and pure silk to provide velvety texture and a delicate scent and nourishing ingredients keep skin balanced and healthy. Jean used Dr Hauschka Lip liner with Rose wax, Anthyllis and camellia extracts to strengthen and condition delicate lips. Then she used Dr Hauschka moisturizing lipstick novum, a best seller as it uses Rose petal and carrot extracts to refine and renew the lips and Rose wax and shea butter to protect and soften. Dr Hauschka Lip products do not contain petroleum which is found usually in other lipstick brands. Petroleum in lipstick is not an good option in the long run as it maybe harmful to our body.
I tested Dr Hauschka make up collection and they all have a light soothing rose scent. Thanks Dr Hauschka for a holistic afternoon.
