The Body Shop is always dedicated and committed to protect the environment. Naturally, The Body Shop is supporting WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) Singapore in its call to action for world leaders to tackle climate change.
Earth Hour 2010 takes place on Saturday 27 March at 8.30pm (local time) and is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community throughout the world. It is a call to stand up, to take responsibility, to get involved and lead the way towards a sustainable future.
Iconic buildings and landmarks from Europe to Asia to the Americas will stand in darkness. People across the world from all walks of life will turn off their lights and join together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common - our planet.
In conjunction with Earth Hour, The Body Shop will switch off some of the lights in all the 34 stores across Singapore. Its website will be ‘blacked-out” from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on 27 March. Photocopying and printing will not be allowed in the company’s offices on 26 March – a weekly office practice that conserves energy and reduces paper wastage. 50 of The Body Shop Staff, together with family and friends will “Walk to Earth Hour” from their office premise at Killiney Road to the Earth Hour Concert at Esplanade Park. The Concert is powered by biodiesel made from waste cooking oil, kindly provided by Alpha Biofuels.
Enjoy great music, bring your own picnic basket and witness the blackout of the CBD area from 7.30pm.
