The inaugural Women’s Fashion Week 2011 Singapore, organized by Fide Multimedia and SENATUS, kicked off with a opening charity gala at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre Hall F, on October 26, held in support of Make a Wish Foundation Malaysia and the Didier Grumbach Scholarship Fund.
In attendance were the Malaysian royalty, ambassadors, Mr Didier Grumbach, president of the Federation Francaise De La Couture, French Ambassador His Excellency Olivier Caron, as well as six of the eight couturiers, Alexis Mabille, Christophe Josse, Eymeric François, Gustavo Lins, Maxime Simoens, Stéphane Rolland, together with Frank Cintamani, WFW 2011 Singapore Chairman and Founder of Fide Multimedia and Kien M Lee WFW Director and Founder of Senatus, hosted by Sonia Couling and Utt.
Dr. Georgia Lee, David Gan, Mrs Tina-Tan Leo and husband, Clarence Lee together with local celebrities like Fann Wong, Julian Hee, Pierre Png, Andrea D’Cruz, Patricia Mok, Jade Seah, alongside with business partners and socialites also attended the high prolific dinner.
Singapore Fashion designers – Francis Cheong, Keith Png, Thomas Wee, Frederick Lee, Ashley Isham and David Wang were seen at the chi chi gala.
Set amidst a magical Spring garden with fresh floral, the guests were treated to a delightful 4-course dinner and performances by local stage thespian and radio deejay Hossan Leong and UK-based dance prodigy Matthew Koon.
The highlight of the gala was WFW2011 Asian Couture Showcase, bringing the brilliant designs of our local couture designers - Thomas Wee, Ashley Isham and Frederick Lee, onto the runway to much appreciative applause from guests.
