Starbucks Singapore Coffee House has partnered with Project Raw Gems, a campaign in collaboration with Autism Resource Centre Singapore, to raise awareness of autism and the employment of individuals with autism in Singapore.
Project Raw Gems aims to correct the common misconceptions people have about autism. The campaign’s underlying message is with training and support, people with autism can work.
Autism is a life-long developmental disorder. While individuals with autism have different skills and abilities, they typically experience challenges in communication, engaging with others socially, and thinking and learning in a flexible way. Individuals do not "outgrow" autism as they get older, but their symptoms may lessen or change as they mature and receive intervention.
