The 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2012 (1MMSC) was officiated with a grand celebration launch by Minister of Tourism, Dato’ Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen at Sunway Pyramid. Supported by Tourism Malaysia, The Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2012 starts from 15th June to 2nd September 2012 and coincide with Hari Raya Puasa, Ramadan and Aidilfitri festivities, 1Malaysia Unified Sale and 1Malaysia Contemporary Art.
International media from 18 key markets including Australia, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos attended the media presentation helmed by The Director General of Tourism Malaysia Y.Bhg. Dato’ Mirza Mohammad Taiyab held at Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa before the launch ceremony.
The 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2012 showcased a preview performance by London, The Summer Musical, Ice skating performance and preview of Kuala Lumpur Fashion weekend at Sunway Pyramid which offers Fashion Central, Asian Avenue, Oasis Boulevard and Marrakesh for different shopping experience.
MasterCard Worldwide is the official card for 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival since the first launch. MasterCard will offer discounts available for MasterCard cardholders and contests with grand prize like a 30-night stay at 5 different YTL Luxury Resorts Hotel worth more than RM 30,000.

Tourists could apply and activate the Privilege Card instantly to enjoy shopping rewards, additional discounts in a week and other exclusive specials whole year round at more than 500 stores within the Bukit Bintang KLCC (BBKLCC) shopping district as well as during the 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival from 15 June to 2 September 2012 and the 1Malaysia Year End Sale from 15 November 2012 to 2 January 2013.
Participating malls include Pavilion KL, Suria KLCC, Starhill Gallery, Berjaya Times square, Fahrenheit88, Lot 10, Plaza Low Yat, Sungei Wang Plaza and Bukit Bintang Plaza to name a few.
