Asian Food Channel (AFC) The Big Break Winner 2013 at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) was unveiled in S.E.A. Aquarium Open Ocean Habitat where the grand finale was filmed. Nico Chan, 18 years old Singaporean won the scholarship prize worth over S$30,000 at At-Sunrice Global Chef Academy in Singapore, co-sponsored by RWS.
Telecasted on StarHub Channel 435, AFC fans and foodies from across eleven cities in Asia witnessed twelve brave underprivileged youths from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, South Korea and Mongolia who finally got their “big break’ and underwent 13 weeks of exciting challenges with Resorts World Sentosa restaurants award winning Chefs.
Elizabeth AK Gelungan from Malaysia was ousted in Episode 12 and Lawrence Balla Las Pinas from Philippines and Nico Chan from Singapore battled out to prepare a fine dining meal for 150 of RWS’s VIP Gala Dinner guests at RWS S.E.A Aquarium on The Big Break Finale on Wednesday, 30 January 2013 at 10.00pm.

A heart warming series, The Big Break Winner Nico Chan walks away with a culinary scholarship worth $30,000 while Lawrence and Eli received a bursary worth S$4,000 and S$2,000 respectively.
'The Big Break' Grand Finale will be telecasted on Monday 4 Feb 8pm and Tues 5 Feb 1pm for SINGAPORE/MALAYSIA/Philippines and 12pm for Indonesia/Thailand.
