Luxury French jewellery House of Cartier premieres L'Odyssée de Cartier (The Cartier Odyssey) – a short film that retraces the cultural influences and extraordinary heritage of Cartier through the iconic Panthère across the mythical locations in Paris, Russia, China and India to reveal the creativity and fascinating world of Cartier.
Cartier’s most gifted creative director, Jeanne Toussaint, a fanciful, free-spirited lady of Paris society with expert eye, sharp allure and consummate elegance used subtle forms, opulent colours, originality and flourish to create the hallmark of Cartier style. Today, Cartier’s Panthère collections are still the most highly appreciated jewels, rare and precious symbols of exceptional savoir-faire.
Produced by an international team of directors, artists, musicians, set designers and three real young panthers - Cali, Damou and Tiga played the role of the Panthère, shot in six months across international locations for Saint Petersburg, Indian Palace and Paris scenes for the three-and-a-half minute film.
The Cartier Panthère - A symbol of strength and freedom attuned to the world, with a sparkle in its emerald eye, explored the exceptional rare and precious jewels savoir-faire at Paris 13 Rue de la Paix, Place Vendôme, Grand Palais and prowled through the years to far flung countries .
The feline panther is transformed as the times and fancy take it, showcases the iconic Cartier designs, watches and jewellery pieces including the Trinity rings, Dragonfly clip brooch, Crocodiles necklace, Tutti Frutti, and the iconic Santos-Dumont’s 14-bis biplane, reflecting the different moods of age and journeyed back to Paris, Grand Palais, ready to spring into action while reminiscing and savouring life, on the mythical bridge between the dreamy skies and the reality of Paris.
The spectacular show stopping grand finale brings the regal panther into the House of Cartier in Paris, to the same room together with international top model Shalom Harlow whose sensual character embodies the spirit of the Cartier woman – elegant, passionate and free spirited.
Dressed in a custom Haute Couture red gown by Chinese fashion designer Yiqing Yin, Shalom Harlow is a picture of refined elegance in a pair of Cartier diamond and natural pearl earrings, a pear-cut solitaire diamond ring weighing 13.4 carats and a unique High Jewellery Panther bracelet in platinum with a 51.58-carat green beryl, onyx spots and nose, emerald eyes and set with “fur-studded” brilliants.
BeauteRunway was privileged to be invited to the intimate exclusive L'Odyssée de Cartier press presentation at St Regis Hotel, Singapore, where the Ballroom was redesigned like a plush French cinema complete with the magnificent Cartier Odyssey and the majestic Panthère backdrop where we previewed the extraordinary heritage of L'Odyssée de Cartier film.
