MEN’S FASHION WEEK 2011 SINGAPORE MARINA BAY SANDS – PRESS PREVIEW

MEN’S FASHION WEEK 2011 SINGAPORE, the inaugural men’s fashion week in Asia will take centerstage at Marina Bay Sands Fashion Metropolis from 30th March to 3rd April 2011.

For the first time in Asia, and only the third in the world after Paris and Milan, Singapore will host the most prestigious men’s fashion event, Men’s Fashion Week 2011. The five day Men’s Fashion will showcase the Autumn/Winter 2011 Collections of over 30 renowned brands from Singapore, the Asian region and International including Hugo Boss, Canalli, Shanghai Tang, Emmanuel, A. Testoni, Kim Choong-Wilkins BodyBound,  RAOUL, Jason by Hide & Seek, Fei Yue, G.I.L. Homme, Dress Camp and Song for the Mute.

Men’s Fashion Week 2011 Singapore are fronted by Face of MFW- Philip Huang, Voice of MFW – Utt and Heart of MFW – Julian Hee.

  

DrGL Men’s Skincare by Dr. Georgia Lee which is The Official Men's Skincare" for MFW 2011 will also be launched exclusively during MFW 2011.

A Fashion Metropolis with MFW Fashion District and MFW Fashion Ground together with a 100 ft runway and approximately 1000 seats will be built within the Marina Bay Sands Expo  and Convention Center especially for the 2011 Inaugural Men’s Fashion Week Singapore. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands will host 6 art installations featuring Fashion Boulevard, Fashion Elite, Fashion Flows and Great Wall of Fashion that showcases luxury, high street  and International labels from The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands as well as paintings and graffiti works by Celebrities and art students for a fund-raising project. The other 2 installations will be revealed on 23rd March.

FashionTV, the official Fashion Channel will broadcast the Men’s Fashion Week 2011 Singapore across 5 continents reaching more than 400 million households worldwide via 15 satellites and thousands of local cable, IPTV and DTH network.

MTV, the official Music Channel will produce an exclusive half hour dedicated Men’s Fashion Week feature – All Access with Utt. Ten Lucky viewers will win a VIP experience of a lifetime with an all-expense-paid trip that includes air tickets, 2-nights stay in Singapore, VIP access to MFW 2011 and VIP invites to MTV VJ Utt’s exclusive party. The contest is open to residents of SEA, Japan, Korea and China from now till 30th March.

   

TOUCH Korean Boy Band, BLUSH Asian Girl Band,  DJ Xeum, Nat Ho, Kiat Goh and West Grand Boulevard will also perform at MFW 2011.

An unique feature that is prevalent only at Mens Fashion Week 2011 Singapore is the showcase of Asian Fashion Designers. The talented designers includes Kim Choong-Wilkins (UK), S2VS (USA), Song for the Mute (Australian), DressCamp (Japan), G.I.L. Homme (Korea), Songzio (Korea), Joey Samson, Jerome Lorico, Jail Jeans (all from Philippines), JBB, ISSUE (Thailand), ATZU, Reckless Ericka, Elohim, evenodd and JASON (Singapore).

LESPORTSAC BAG SPRING SUMMER 2011 E-MOOKS ARRIVED AT KINOKUNIYA SINGAPORE

LESPORTSAC Spring Summer 2011 bags with Japanese e-mooks arrived at Kinokuniya last week. The rectangle zipper case reveals a foldable tote bag  when unzipped. Great for shopping or travelling.

LeSportsac released 3 different print each year for their e-mook collection. This year, i only purchased Style 1 – Stardust and Style 2 – Berry Blossom which is a Japan edition design. I skipped Style 3 as i dont really fancy the red and blue checkers print although i was quite tempted to purchase it just to complete the set.

The bag unfolds into a tote bag.

Made of nylon, the lightweight bag is roomy enough for A4 files and other knick knacks. The quality of the nylon is not as thick as the usual LeSportsac collection but nylon material is quite strong by nature. A point to note is the straps do look rather thin and flimsy so i am not sure how sturdy it would be as i have not use the bags but they should be alright for shopping.

Stardust is more practical as its black and wont stain easily but i prefer the lovely sweet berry blossom prints as its more cheery and its Japan limited Edition.
