ELEPHANT PARADE SINGAPORE TANGS LAUNCH WITH LEONA LEWIS / SABINE ROEMER / DICK LEE DESIGNS
Elephant Parade is the largest open air art exhibition worldwide in preservation of the Asian elephant and the first ever installation in Asia, Singapore. Over 162 painted life-szied baby elephants designed by local and international celebrities, artists and designers where 50 elephants were adopted by presenting sponsor ABN AMRO Private Banking in aid for The Asian Elephant Foundation and the Wildlife Reserves Singapore Conservation Fund was launched at Tangs Orchard on 11 November 2011.
World-class artists and designers like Jack Vettriano, Lulu Guinness, Corneille, Jitish Kallat, Paul Smith, Diane von Fürstenberg, Sacha Jafri , and Solange Azagury-Patridge, Joss Stone, Paul Smith and Karim Rashid have contributed to Elephant Parade. HRH Prince Charles of Great Britain, Ms Goldie Hawn, The Prince Consort of Denmark, The Mayors of Amsterdam and London and Sir Evelyn de Rothschild have testified to support the project.
A highlight of The Elephant Parade Singapore launch at Tangs Orchard was the local designs by Mr. S.R. Nathan, Dick Lee, Tina Tan-Leo, Glen Goei, Nadya Hutagalung, Ann Healy & Edo Hutabarat, Aston Martin, FJ Benjamin , Jim Thompson, Leona Lewis, Henry Holland. Lulu Guiness, Cat Deeley.
Guests also witnessed the unveiling of the most precious elephant of this instalment, designed by international jewellery designer, Ms Sabine Roemer, featuring a 3.5 carat diamond with a breathtaking new cut, the Gassan 121.
The elephants will be displayed along Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Singapore Zoological Gardens, Singapore Botanic Gardens, VivoCity, Asian Civilisations Museum, Esplanade, Fort Canning Park, Goodwood Park Hotel, Jim Thompson Restaurant, Marina Bay Sands, Merlion Park, One Fullerton, Raffles Place Green, Singapore Art Museum, Singapore Philatelic Museum, Tembusu College NUS, The Fullerton Heritage and Vue Privée
These unique pieces of art will be display till 6 January 2012 and auctioned off by Sotheby’s at a Grand Auction Gala on 12 & 14 January 2012, with part of the proceeds going to The Asian Elephant Foundation and the Wildlife Reserves Singapore Conservation Fund.
Limited edition elephants replicas in miniature sizes ranging from 10cm to 75cm, hand-painted professional fine artists from Chiang Mai, Thailand are available for sale at The Elephant Parade Gallery Store at TANGS, or online (www.elephantparade.com/shop) during the duration of Elephant Parade Singapore 2011. LONGINES SINGAPORE GOLD CUP 2011 WITH AARON KWOK AT SINGAPORE TURF CLUB
