Laksania unites laksa lovers with delectable Laksa specialities from Singapore, Kelantan, Sarawak, Penang and Vegetarian. Using freshly blend Laksa paste, Laksagne, Laksa goreng, Singapore Laksa hotpot, chicken wings, satays, rice, pasta and burgers all served with a dose of lemak Laksa gravy are some of the extensive variation on the menu.
Singapore laksa nonya style with prawns, tau pok and hard boiled egg egg in creamy coconut gravy is a crowd favourite while Kelantan Laksa tangy flavour with yellow ginger, deboned mackerel, shredded cucumber and special sambal chilli is a popular choice.
Try the light flavoured Sarawak Laksa in prawn and chicken broth with fine vermicelli. This dish goes well with lime and reminds me of mee siam.
Another crowd puller is laksa goreng with a hint of laksa spiciness, cockles are optional. A hybrid fried noodles dish reminiscent of Char Kway Teow, Mee Goreng and Hokkien Mee, this is perfect with Laksania best selling Chendol, Thai red ruby or Iced Citron Peel Yuzu Tea.
Penang Laksa with Assam broth and pineapple have a strong fish flavour while Vegetarian Laksa served with tau pok and enoki mushroom is a less sinful option.
Warming hearts with Laksania are loyal and committed mentally disabled individuals from marginalised groups that were trained and groomed to work in the food and beverage industry for its catering kitchen and Laksa outlets at East Coast Road, Bugis+ and NEX .
Conceptualised by Ms Sim Sin Sin, CEO, Laksania, the social enterprise laksa halal-certified restaurant's chain initiated large scale social recruitment, training and employment for the beneficiaries and are now ready to embark mentorship for other restaurants and cafes in accepting them.
Job loyalty rates are at a high 100%, a rarity in the service and kitchen industry where high turnover rates and manpower shortage are prevalent. The beneficiaries are often thankful for a productive and enriching job with stable income that provides a positive outlook to build up their confidence and direction in life.
The Many Helping Hands Programme (MHHP) was officiated by Laksania notable regulars like Speaker of Parliament, Madam Halimah Yaacob, Ambassador-at-Large Professor Tommy Koh, CEOs and Food & Beverage head honchos at the Chinese New Year Laksa Lo Hei celebration.
Laksania will continue its social employment initiative for people with disabilities where MHHP will Identify, Place and Train individuals from MINDS and APSN with potential F&B brand outlets and mentoring of employers for positive results.
An appreciative Thank You to the social causes enterprise and employers who are supportive of this initiative which will ensure employable beneficiaries of a stable future and help reduce Singapore’s food and beverage manpower issues and shortage.
