World Gourmet Awards 2021 & World Gourmet Summit Silver Jubilee - Remastered Celebration of Culinary Leaders

The World Gourmet Summit (WGS) celebrates its Silver Jubilee in 2021 with World Gourmet Awards (WGA) 21st edition - highly regarded as one of Singapore's most esteemed accolades in the culinary world.

Theme ‘Remastered’, WGA featured both past winners and future generations where 36 F&B establishments, chefs, sommeliers and restaurant managers were recognised for their outstanding culinary standards in the gourmet world with industry partners.

Peter Knipp, Founder, World Gourmet Summit shared that "Today, the F&B Industry is still doing its best to survive despite much of Singapore being locked down due to Covid-19. As a result, people are scared about what will happen in their future but there's nothing stopping these 36 award recipients this year from proving that hard work does indeed pay off".

Adopting a hybrid format incorporating both physical and online elements, the WGA 2021 was held between 17th to 19th May at 3 PM on Facebook live and followed by an intimate trophy ceremony to celebrate the award recipients on the 5th of July 2021 during two different sessions held at the sprawling ballroom of One Farrer Hotel.

The World Gourmet Awards saluted the culinary winners for the Lifetime Achievements, the USA Rice  Federation Chef Mentor / Apprentice of the Year as well as the addition of new members to their coveted Hall of Fame and Green Initiative Awards.

The World Gourmet Summit continues its 25th anniversary celebration with exclusive WGS Events hosting with different partners like USA Cheese Guild and Pacific Northwest Seafood promotion.

The World Gourmet Summit Private Dining events will feature Four-Hands collaboration with WGS’s partner restaurants and popular local private dining chefs like Pasir Panjang boys, Annette Tan, Sarah Benjamin, Bryan Koh and Sandra Sim.

La Takorea digital restaurant by The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition delivered in Singapore

La Takorea, a Korean-Mexican fusion digital restaurant brand conceptualised by The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition contestants in collaboration with global food technology company TiffinLabs, featuring food tech firm Next Gen’s first brand, TiNDLE — chicken made from plants based is available at Harry's restaurant and bar with speciality cocktail Cantarito for delivery in Singapore  exclusively via GrabFood. 


ONE Chairman & CEO Chatri Sityodtong and Niharika Singh, ONE’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Development & Strategy, together with TiffinLabs Co-founder & Chairman, Kishin RK were the judges.

The multinational winning team comprising of Singaporean Joy Koh, Nazee Sajedi from the US, and Venezuelan Jessica Ramella in the operation kitchen, Niraj Puran Rao from India, Clinton Tudor from New Zealand, Kexin Ye from Germany, and Indonesian Paulina Purnomowati, separately focused on the brand identity, financials, marketing, and go-to-market strategy.

TiNDLE, a mouth-watering chicken experience made entirely from plants, was the featured key ingredient with Swipe Right TiNDLE Taco and Superlike TiNDLE Bao, both featuring a flavourful filling that contained juicy chunks of grilled TiNDLE, crunchy cabbage slaw, spicy gochujang aioli, kimchi, and topped with golden nacho cheese.
